Lucy-Liu
Lucy Liu (born Lucy Liu) is an American actor, voice actress, director producer and vocalist. An intelligent and attractive actress she serves as an inspiration for numerous Asian actors looking to break into Hollywood. After a series of initial appearances in some popular series she gained fame by joining the cast of the show Legal Comedy Ally McBeal where she played the sly Ling Woo. She translated her newfound fame to roles on the big screen with Shanghai Noon, Charlie's Angels as well as other films. For Kill Bill Volume 1, Quentin Tarantino, she gave an amazing performance in the role of Japanese crime lord O-Ren. Around the same time she also took on part in the leading roles of some movies that were not a success at the box office like Rise: Blood Hunter. Later, she was able to start voicing characters from animated films such as Kung Fu Panda or Tinker Bell. Mia Mason's part as a character in Cashmere Mafia, a small screen film, failed to bring about the satisfactory results. The role she played in the critically acclaimed police drama Southland helped re-establish herself as a prominent actress. Liu plays her roles with care to make sure she doesn't get cast in an industry that is competitive. She's accepted her Chinese roots but hasn't let it limit her artistically.
