Arianna Huffington
Arianna Stassinopoulos Huffington has been a Greek American columnist, author and entrepreneur for more than twenty years. She co-founded The Huffington Post, is the chief executive officer and co-founder of Thrive Global as well an author of fifteen novels. Arianna Huffington, an independent liberal news outlet, is a television personality as well as a writer and philanthropist. When she moved to England from Greece when she was 16, she received a MA in Economics at Cambridge University. At 21 she became head of the famous debate club The Cambridge Union' and was the first foreign born student in the history of Cambridge University to be elected. A conservative syndicated blogger following her graduation, she was able to be a voice of the Huffington Post. It was her celebrity that helped to attract several prominent contributors to share their opinions on the news, politics and culture. Arianna became famous in 2003 when she ran as an independent in California recall elections in order to replace Governor Davis. Alongside this, she led an Detroit project to promote vehicles that are fuel efficient. Forbes identified her as the most influential female in the media industry in 2009. She ranked at 12th place on their listing. The Guardian also included her to the list of 100 most influential media for 2009. In 2011, AOL Inc. purchased The Huffington Post and made her the head of the media group which included many existing AOL properties, including Engadget AOL music Style list and Patch Media. Elli is the child of Konstantinos the management and journalism consultant. While she enjoyed a strong relationship with her mother and father and father, it was their relationship which shaped her. Even during her formative period, she displayed leadership skills for which are still prominently known. Her move to England came at 16, to pursue her education and was accepted into Girton College Cambridge. In the years of her university, she belonged to the Cambridge Union debating group where she rose to become the first woman president, and also the only foreign president. She graduated in 1972 with the degree of master's in Economics. The career of a journalist and television host was born after graduation. She appeared alongside Bernard Levin on an edition Face the music, and she started writing her own novels with his help.
