Amy Smart has been a model, actress as well as a former American. Her modeling career started in Italy in Italy, where she was raised before being was born in California. Her Costly Affair, a 1996 TV film that she played her first part in, was her debut performance. It took some time to get her into Starship Troopers in a smaller role. It was a hard time when she had to change between modeling and acting because models were not thought of as actors, and they were usually assigned smaller roles that were insignificant. Amy was determined to keep trying. She worked her way up into bigger roles, beginning with The 70s series and Varsity Blues film. In 2005, she took on the lead role in the romance comedy Just Friends with Ryan Reynolds. Amy gained the recognition she had been searching for for more than 10 years when her film called Just Friends came out. She went on doing some major films such as the Crank series opposite Jason Statham and the series Shameless in which she portrayed a well loved recurring character.
